As you might know I bike tour and I see that bike touring is beginning to take off. Travel by automoblie is getting expensive and it's extremely boring driving for miles to nowhere but exit to exit. Various people I've met on the road had the same experience and wanted to see the country without the aide of a gas station crazy high gas prices. With the aide of State Cycling Boards, Adventure Cycling Association, and Local Cycling Clubs people are getting help traveling coast to coast. Also these people write up journals of their travels and these site are Crazyguyonabike, Fickster, Facebook, and bikejournal.com .  Going these distances seems crazy but with right planning, a touring bicycle with front and rear panniers, BOB trailer, handlebar bar bag, and the correct gear you would be better equipped then some drivers on the road.
